The third-born son of קרח .

Formerly the wife of נבל ,  a Judean aristocrat and subsequently the wife of דוד .  Seeking revenge for נבל 's  ingratitude, דוד   threatens to slaughter his entire household. אביגיל   sets out to cut דוד   off on his march towards נבל .  Meeting דוד ,  אביגיל   convinces him not to attack her husband's estate arguing that the needless violence will be a blot on his reputation. When נבל   dies, דוד   marries the widow אביגיל .  Later, אביגיל   is captured by raiding Amalekites but is rescued by דוד .  אביגיל   and דוד   have a son named כִּלְאָב .  אביגיל   is included on a list of seven female prophets appearing in מגילה יד ..

A sister of דוד .  אביגל 's  son עמשא   is given יואב 's  job as דוד 's  general during אבשלום 's  rebellion. She is referred to as אֲבִגַל בַּת נָחָשׁ   which might mean that נחש   was another name for ישי   (see בבא בתרא יז .)  or that נחש   was the name of ישי 's  wife.

נשיא -  chief of שבט בנימין .  Following completion of the Tabernacle, the chiefs of Israel's tribes bring gifts of silver, gold and animals as dedication offerings. אבידן   presents his goods on the ninth of twelve days of consecration.

Wife of חצרון בן פרץ .

A כהן   who returns to יהודה   with זְרֻבָּבֶל .  This might be the same individual who signs a pledge - an אֲמָנָה -  during the time of נחמיה   (נחמיה י :ה ). The signatories to the declaration promise to observe the commandments of the Torah, to refrain from intermarrying, to avoid commerce on Shabbat, and to make regular donations to the Temple.

A grandson of בנימין בן יעקב .

Son of ירבעם -  the first king of divided Israel. אביה   falls ill and his mother consults with the prophet אחיה   who informs his mother that אביה 's  imminent death will herald the decline of ירבעם 's  family.

A son of King רחבעם .

אביה   and his brother יואל   are corrupt judges who stray from their father שמואל 's  path, leading the nation to demand a king.

Second son of אהרן   and a כהן .  He and his older brother נדב   bring an inappropriate קטרת   (incense) offering and are struck dead by God. The bodies of the two are removed from the משכן   by their cousins מישאל   and אלצפן   (פרשת שמיני ).

Wife of אבישור -  descendant of יהודה בן יעקב .

אביהיל 's  relationship to King רחבעם   is unclear in the text. She may be his wife, or the mother of מחלת   and hence רחבעם 's  mother-in-law. She is certainly a granddaughter of ישי   and therefore a niece of דוד .

Second king of יהודה   following the split of the nation, אבים   reigns for three years in ירושלים ,  and maintains the idolatrous practices of his father. He also continues fighting his father's nemesis ירבעם ,  against whom he is successful. אבים   marries fourteen women and has 38 children. He is succeeded by his son אָסָא .
